Samsung Galaxy S II which was unveiled in Mobile World Congress 2011 improves on its earlier version in a number of ways. The dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor cranked out a significant boost in performance as compared to Samsung Galaxy S. This phone runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread and feature Samsung’s proprietary UI, the TouchWiz 4.0 user interface.

The Galaxy S II’s core strength is Media and Social Hubs. For Media Hub, TouchWiz 4.0 offers features including Game, Music and Reader hubs so that users can download more content to their smartphone. The Music Hub provides access to over 12 million tracks from 7digital whereas the Games hub will be powered by Gameloft. The Reader Hub will run by different providers and includes access to massive 2.2 million books, 2000 global and local newspapers and 2300 magazines…too much until you cannot finish reading everything.

Social Hub keeps all your social interactions in one consolidated place. Live Panel aggregates live Web and application contents to a customizable home screen. Now you’ll be able to see your messaging history, IM status and reach your friends SMS, e-mail, etc all at a centralized location. Despite appearing as a phone for entertainment, Samsung Galaxy S II also incorporates enterprise apps such as Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for e-mail, calendar, contacts and tasks synchronization with Microsoft Exchange, on-device encryption and support for Cisco’s mobile solutions for VoIP calls, VPN and virtual desktop.

What’s most notable about the phone, though, is the luscious and seductive body with streamlined and high-quality construction. Galaxy S features a drop dead gorgeous 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen with a WVGA 480×800 pixel resolution. With 50% more subpixels as compared to Super AMOLED screens, the display with be much brighter, crisper and smoother pictures. Its vital statistics is 4.93 inches tall, 2.6 inches wide and 0.33 inches thick. Claimed to be the world’s thinnest smartphone, it is amazingly slim and weighs 4.09 ounces only. Just like the Samsung Galaxy S, it has a plastic build. However, we didn’t like the textured back, we prefer a smooth surface.

The Galaxy S II sports a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, 1080p full HD video recording and playback, option for NFC connectivity, HSPA+ support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. We heard rumors it will be shipped to Europe and Asia in February. Widely regarded as the best smartphone around at the moment, we expect it to be one of the best selling Android phone in 2011.

If there’s one word to describe Samsung Infuse 4G, it’s MASSIVE!!! both in terms of size and features! The big, bold and beautiful smartphone available from AT&T has a whopping 4.5 inch 480×800 Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor and connects lightning fast 4G HSPA+ network on AT&T. Delivering power and speeds that will totally blow you away, it’s an incredibly compelling choice for customers. The line between smartphones and tablets is blurring with the introduction of this massive beast.

The Samsung Infuse 4G is currently the thinnest 4G phone on the market. Samsung Infuse 4G is also the first to feature next-generation “Super AMOLED Plus” technology that is enhanced with a 50 percent boost in sub-pixel count, promising improvements both in contrast and outdoor readability. The screen will feature a gorilla glass display and swype text input for faster texting. With 32GB MicroSD compatible and 3.5 mm audio jack the phone is great as a personal media player. Samsung Infuse 4G comes with a TouchWiz 3.0 Interface and Android 2.2 Froyo preloaded. With TouchWiz 3.0 UI, you can easy access to all your favourite apps and widgets. Samsung Infuse 4G users are given the opportunity to customise up to 7 home screens and navigate easily to different home screens with its unique directional swipe function. In addition, being on the Android platform gives you the ability to download over 100,000 apps from the Android Market.

In terms of size, its slightly bigger than HTC’s 4.3 inch range (HTC EVO 4G, HTC Desire HD and HTC Thunderbolt) yet smaller than tablet such as Dell Streak which is 5 inch. At 9mm thin, it claims to be the thinnest smartphone on AT&T’s portfolio to date. Samsung Infuse 4G boasts a rear 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash whereas video calls will be a snap with the 1.3 megapixels front facing camera. You can also capture 720p HD video with incredible detail on this handset.

The flip side of the Samsung Infuse 4G is that it’s running on Android 2.2 platform rather than Android 2.3 as we’ve seen on most CES arrivals this year, but we doubt an older OS will hold the hardware back. Also note that the single core 1.2GHZ processor might not be as much powerful as of Motorola Atrix 4G or LG Optimus 2X which comes with dual-core processor. Despite lack of some of the latest features, the Infuse 4G is very much a solid Android smartphone with huge display, good performance and decent battery life.
