
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) on Feb 13, its first line-up of tablets for 2012 to provide people with delighted multimedia experience and enable efficient communication. The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) available in 3G and WiFi versions is extremely light and portable, ideal personal on-the-go device. This is also Samsung’s first Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) powered tablet, offering a variety of new and enhanced Android OS features. With access to Android Market, there’s over 400,000 applications to be enjoyed. ICS also comes with more intuitive user interface including ability to swipe-control applications as well as a thoroughly redesigned app gallery for easier sharing of content. Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is also integrated with HSPA+ 21Mbps or WiFi connectivity to enhance faster performance and response times across multiple applications. On top of that, Android 4.0 boasts a variety of embedded Google applications that allows fast access to sites and applications that they use frequently whereas the innovative Face Unlock feature unlocks the tablet through unique facial recognition software.
The GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0) enables users convenient multimedia access, playback and sharing capabilities with Samsung Hub services. Users can access to over 17 million tracks through Samsung’s Music Hub which provides full music store solution. In addition, users can read over 2.3 million e-books, 3,500 magazines and over 2,000 newspapers in 51 languages through the Readers Hub. Users can also instantly connect to the latest game titles through the Games Hub. For movie buffs, be thrilled with over 1,000 film titles for purchase or rent in the Video Hub. Samsung’s upgraded TouchWiz user interface sits on top of ICS, providing one-step access to users content in Hubs. The tablet also introduced S Suggest, a new service offering recommendations of apps suited to users preference directly on a home screen. Samsung’s AllShare Play, a new content-sharing service available for the first time on any Samsung mobile device further boosts GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0)’s superb multimedia experience. AllShare Play lets users play or live-stream multimedia content to PCs, other Samsung smart devices or third-party Web storage.
Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) hardware specs include a 7-inch screen with 1,024-by-600 resolution, a 1-GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 3-megapixel camera on the rear, and a front-facing VGA camera for video chat. A-GPS and Bluetooth 3.0 are reportedly also included. In case users misplaced their primary phone, Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) can be used as easily as a phone with its voice call capability. It also lets users to spontaneously arrange multi-party video calls via Google+ hangouts, as well as engage in group chats or micro-communities to collectively chat or share content. ChatON, Samsung’s cross-platform communication service, connects all phone users of any platform into a single community. ChatON uses phone numbers instead of ID and passwords, and provides easy instant messaging and group chatting in various formats—images, video, voice, contacts—to make messaging simple and intuitive. Samsung’s newest 7-inch Galaxy Tab will start rolling out in March.
