Nokia 808 PureView: Whopping 41 Megapixel Sensor

Nokia sets a new industry standard in high end smartphone imaging with the Nokia 808 PureView. This smartphone is the first smartphone to feature Nokia PureView imaging technologing, integrating high resolution sensors, Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia proprietary algorithms which will deliver new high end imaging experiences. The Nokia 808 PureView boasts a whopping high resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology.

At standard resolutions (2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels) this represents the capability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, compressing into one pixel for the sharpest photos. It also means users can capture an image (38 megapixel maximum), then zoom, reframe, crop and resize afterwards to fine details unseen previosly. The camera performs extremely well in low light situations and is able to save in compact file sizes for sharing in email, MMS and social network purposes.

Apart from the superior still imaging capabilities, the Nokia 808 Pureview also includes full HD 1080p video recording playback with 4X lossless zoom and the pioneer to use of Nokia Rich Recording. Audio Recording with CD-like quality is achievable using Rich Recording. Nokia 808 PureView has also Dolby Headphone technology for converting stereo content into a personal surround sound experience over any headphones and Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback.
