Previously, LG has manufactured a lot of low and mid-range Android phones with mediocre specification which got lost in the market which is already flooded with such phones. However, the general perception towards LG phones are about to change with the introduction of LG Revolution, LG’s first 4G LTE phone for Verizon Wireless. LG Revolution fully integrates entertainment and messaging features packaged into an alluring design. LG Revolution is further boosted by the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network with the power of Android 2.2 to deliver a blazingly fast experience. We were informed that Verizon 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network (a huge boost for users to stream, play and record High Definition content while on the go) .

Most of the gadget geeks out there will be delighted with LG Revolution which comes equipped with relatively new Android 2.2 Froyo experience which allows for two to three times faster and smoother internet browsing, web-page loading, application pop-ups and multi-tasking. LG Revolution users will be able to enjoy Android 2.2 technology for Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and Google Voice. Users will have access to infinite entertainment possibilities through over 100,000 applications from Android Market.

LG Revolution is a premier device with tastefully design styles and lots of impressive features. LG Revolution’s artilery include a 1GHz chipset, 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash at the back, front facing camera for Skype calling, HD video capture, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA support, HDMI-out port and 16GB internal memory with microSD slot up to 32GB. With the DLNA support, users will be able to send video content wirelessly to other DLNA-enabled devices, such as televisions, monitors and computers, allowing for a rich, interactive entertainment experience. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated camera button for your convenience in taking photos and videos.

From the exterior, LG Revolution has a streamlined design comprising of gunmetal finish complemented by soft touch surfaces on top and bottom. LG Revolution looks a bit on the larger size, thanks to the a massive 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen which is stunningly crisp and clear, but lacks the visual appeal as compared to Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus displays. Although LG Revolution is rather bulky, but its not heavy or uncomfortable to hold.

LG Revolution is one of the handsets which will enable Verizon customers to experience 4G LTE speeds on a smartphone. Data speeds that the LG Revolution is expected to achieve on Verizon’s LTE network are as follows: 5 to 12 Mbps for download, and 2 to 5 Mbps for upload. LG Revolution is able to act as a Mobile Hotspot, so you’ll be able to share that LTE connection with up to 8 devices. With Bluetooth version 3.0, we can rapidly send and receive data from other media.

We expect LG Revolution to be a hit with consumers because of its overall distinctive designs and connectivity options. LG Revolution’s support for 4G LTE with Verizon is undoubtedly going to be a huge factor for those looking to upgrade to a super phone. Release date of LG Revolution is scheduled for March or early April 2011.

Immediately after the launch of LG Optimus 2X, LG divulged another Android smartphone at CES 2011 called the LG Optimus Black. LG Optimus Black reflects LG’s core strength of advanced technology, in both display and design, offering the world’s brightest screen and world’s slimmest design in an hard to resist package. A high fashion icon for vibrant lifestyle, the phone is enhanced with a super bright 4 inch NOVA display. We were thrilled with the state of the art NOVA display offering the brightest, clearest and most readable mobile screen with “700 nits of brightness” for optimal visibility. This means that users will be able to browse the web, read emails or write documents with higher levels of brightness and pure white tones that produces true black and white colors for suitable mobile viewing.

The NOVA technology also makes it easier for users to view the handset in indoors and under bright sunlight. The NOVA display also energy efficient (reduces the power consumption of the phone battery). As compared to AMOLED display, NOVA display uses half of the power to display full white screen, the most commonly used color scheme for web surfing. In addition, the 1500mAH battery of the LG Optimus Black packs enough power for their daily use, although setting the brightness to maximum.

Another strong selling point of this phone is the ultra slim 9.2mm sleek ensemble, it’s so avant-garde we’ve got fashionistas talking. In terms of style, LG Optimus Black offers sleek lines and smooth edges for improved hand grip and supreme light weighing only 109g. Optimus Black is installed with Optimus UI 2.0 offering easier and faster access to apps and content. The user interface lets users to view messages, emails and missed calls from the locked screen and also Gesture UI that allows you to control certain actions like answering calls, play music or activate camera instantly via simple handset gestures like lifting, shaking or tapping the phone.

Pre installed with world’s first Wi-Fi Direct technology for fast and high quality data transfer between 2 devices and 2 megapixel front facing camera, it’s certainly an plus point when considering the phone. LG optimus Black comes with Android 2.2 Froyo and is upgradable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Once upgraded, users will be able to utilize video telephony functions of higher quality. We highly recommend you to get your hands on Optimus Black and experience it yourself. The phone will be released globally in the first half of 2011.

Aren’t we all sick of LG phones that doesn’t offer anything different from the rest of the manufacturers, except some minor cosmetic changes or feature a co-branding with a major organization (eg. LG Ally which joins forces with Marvel Entertainment for ‘Iron Man 2′). The LG Optimus range is hardly impressive and labeled as a cheap phone with no ‘wow’ factor features. If LG wants to to be more than a distant niche player in mobile, its needs to take bold and innovative steps to compete.

Well, thank god those days are gone because in 2011, LG will be introducing some premium high-end phones with ingenious designs. The LG Optimus 2X will play in a different class entirely and is well kitted out with top-of-the-line features including a new Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor. Dual core technology is the next leap future of mobile technology. LG Optimus 2x is world’s first dual core smartphone, but we’re expecting some upcoming dual core smartphones like Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid Bionic and HTC Thunderbolt.

As compared to single core 1GHz processor such as Snapdragon or Hummingbird, The Tegra 2 promises ultra high speed web connectivity and highly competent multitasking ability. You will be able to slide through different screens, launch apps and switching tasks in a flash. The display is also soothing to the eyes. The Optimus 2X has 4 inch screen with 16 million colors and WVGA 480×800 pixel resolution, nothing special as compared to high end Android phones. Its display is sharp and crisp with deep blacks and nice vibrant colors to cope with bright sunny days. From our perspective, the display isn’t as striking as Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and doesn’t have the bodywork found on HTC phones. At the bottom of the display, you will find 4 regular backlit android controls for menu, home, back and search. From the side, you will find volume control buttons and power/standby button, micro HDMI and 3.5mm sockets at the top. At the bottom, there’s Micro-USB socket and two speakers which provides excellent sound quality.

Other specs include internal 8GB of storage and support for up to 32GB microSD memory, rear 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1.3 megapixel front facing cameras, MicroUSB port and a 1500 mAH battery. One of the features which caught our attention was that LG Optimus 2x performs high quality 1080p HD video playback and recording with HDMI mirroring which expands content on external displays such as HDTV to full HD quality, one of the most solid performance that we’ve ever seen. Enhanced with Adobe Flash, it enables users to enjoy smooth and rich multimedia content while on the go. With this sophisticated smartphone, LG could potentially burst through the line of scrimmage and run for a touchdown.
