LG Optimus G: Impressive 13 Megapixel Camera

The latest Android handset from LG, the Optimus G was announced in Seoul on Tuesday and boasts best in class specifications such as a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, NFC, and 32GB of built-in storage. LG is expected to offer the Optimus G with either an 8 megapixel or 13 megapixel rear camera which is also capable of capturing 1080p video. The voice activated camera can take shots by just talking to it. The Optimus G comes with impressive display of 4.7-inch, 1280×768 pixel display with a unique 15:9 screen ratio.

LG also claims the Optimus G as the first 4G LTE smartphone with a quad core processor. Apart from the hardware improvements, LG also made software amendments to the Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. One of the unique addition is the “QSlide Function” which enables users to view two different apps side by side on the screen. The intention is to enable users to multitask so that more things can be done simultaneously, such as tweeting and browsing website at the same time. Another useful feature is the ability to zoom in and out while watching a video being played on the device. The Optimus G will be availble in Korea next week whereas launches in key global markets in October.
